FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS from 3d Lacrosse (edited by KOB)
What airport do we fly into?
Tampa International Airport is the closest major airport to St. Pete Beach. It is approximately 40 minutes to the hotel from the TIA. 3d Lacrosse provides ground transportation from TIA to the Postcard Inn on the Beach. We will also have a staff member in the airport to meet arriving campers and transport them to the hotel.
What time can we get in our rooms?
Check-in time is at 4:00pm and check-out time is 11:00am. Early check-in and late check-out may not be available, so we highly encourage campers to plan their travel schedules accordingly. Arrive at the Tampa airport by 3pm on March 16th.
What is the first meal included in the program? What is the last meal provided?
The first meal provided to you will be a late pizza dinner on arrival day after we workout with the PROGRAM.
The last meal provided will be breakfast on departure day.
When is our first and last practice?
After a Saturday evening and Sunday morning workout with the PROGRAM, our first lacrosse practice will be Sunday evening - you will have Sunday afternoon to relax, refocus, and enjoy the beach.
Your last lacrosse practice will be a scrimmage Thursday night - there will be no practice on your departure day.
How much supervision will there be?
3d Lacrosse provides 1 coach for every 10 campers. There will be roll calls before every practice session, a “code of conduct” that campers will need to abide by for the duration of camp, bed checks every night before “lights out”.3d Lacrosse reserves the right to send any camper home who does not adhere to the code of conduct. Coaches will be on-call each night for any problems or emergencies that may arise.
How many WRA coaches will be traveling?
Three coaches for the boys (and three coaches for the girls) will be there all week.
WRA coaches will be Kevin O'Brien (Cell 330.221.7785), Jeff Neill (Cell 413.768.8607), and Mike Boller (Cell 914.886.5126).
7.What if my son has a medical condition/allergies?
3d Lacrosse will have a certified athletic trainer on staff. If your son has any special medical needs, please make a note of it on the medical form we provide. If your son has any food allergies, please include that information on your medical form as well so we can make sure to have appropriate.
8. How much spending money do you recommend?
3d Lacrosse provides three full, buffet meals a day; however, campers are always hungry after their evening session. Many want to order pizza or buy snacks from the camp store. $50-$75 is recommended.
9. What should we pack?
See packing list - below.
10. Are cell phones allowed?
Yes, cell phones are allowed at this camp.
Again, BE SURE TO Double CHECK YOUR FLIGHTS - and
your Airline's baggage policy!
Recommended luggage: one
large, long nylon Duffle bag (instead of a suitcase) that will fit short sticks (40 inches. For example,
a bag like this would fit a stick diagonally.
If you have a suitcase and your stick won't fit, you should coordinate with a teammates who may have a bag that will fit your stick (with smaller bags, you may have to remove your stick's head).
Coach O'Brien will have one ski bag for the long poles (must remove the head for them all to fit - or check your own long pole/ski bag).
If your stick does not fit in your luggage, coordinate with a teammate before arriving at the airport, please.
TRAVEL ATTIRE: Nice polo shirt, nice shorts or khakis.
