Approaching the Midpoint to the Season

It's hard to believe that after this Thursday's game against University School, we will have played eleven games - half way through the season - with eleven games remaining.  Presently, we are .500 at 5-5.

Of course, we'd like a few plays back and a few minutes here and there - and don't get me started about our fourth quarter struggles.  Yet we have been more than competitive in every game, we've played.  We can only learn from our mistakes, and move forward.

We have made progress yet there's much potential still on the table.  Once we put it all together for a full game, we will be tough to beat.

One tool that's been invaluable in the learning process has been Hudl.com.  After games, I upload the game film to our Hudl online account.   Players can access the game films at anytime, even from apps on their smartphones.  It's easy to create highlight films and share with college coaches via email.  As coaches, we can telestrate with arrows and embedded comments that players can see.  Without question, film study accelerates learning, which translates to greater success on the field.

This Thursday, we have a great opponent in University School.  Our players know their players personally and many considered WRA.  Historically, "Beat U.S." has been a cheer for many decades.  For our alumni, there's nothing sweeter than a victory over the "Preppers."

Both J.V. and Varsity will depart at 3:15 - for 5:00 p.m. games - and return around 7:30 for super late dinner in the dining hall.

On Saturday, we will depart at 8:00am - for varsity's 3:00 p.m. game versus Detroit Central Catholic. On Sunday, we play Culver at 9:30 a.m. We expect to be back on campus around 6:30.  Students will miss classes on Saturday - speak to your teachers!
